As the premiere of the BBC’s latest series, Lynley, draws near, we’ve been privileged with a collection of fresh, exclusive photos that offer a closer glimpse of the talented cast.
The upcoming series is based on the hugely successful novels penned by Elizabeth George, who also serves as an executive producer. Previously, her writings were adapted for The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, a series that featured Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small and ran for six seasons from 2001 to 2007.
In the latest photos, we can see actors Leo Suter (from Vikings: Valhalla) and Sofia Barclay (known for Ted Lasso), portraying their characters as the updated versions of Tommy Lynley and Barbara Havers.
At the same time, we are introduced to Daniel Mays (from Magpie Murders), portraying the role of senior detective DCI Brian Nies.
The drama consists of four 90-minute segments and is slated to debut on BBC iPlayer and BBC One this fall.

Tommy Lynley, a skilled police detective, stands out among his colleagues due to his aristocratic background.
He’s teamed up with Barbara Havers, a sergeant known for her unconventional spirit and humble origins.

Despite appearing as an unlikely pair and defying expectations, Lynley and Havers join forces to make a powerful team, united by their shared commitment to upholding justice.
As a movie buff, I’ve come to appreciate that his intellectual prowess and my intuition are like two sides of the same coin. Only when we collaborate can we discover our rightful places in this grand cinematic adventure.
The production hails from the pen of Steve Thompson, who’s known for his work on Sherlock. Additionally, it boasts a talented ensemble including Niamh Walsh (from The Sandman), Michael Workeye (known for Bookish), and Joshua Sher (a regular in Vera).
Initially announcing the series, Thompson expressed his excitement by saying: “It’s an honor and a joy to reimagine these fantastic books for television.
The beloved characters created by Elizabeth George are highly appreciated, and her tales, both intriguing and cleverly crafted, keep readers captivated.
