Now that Apple TV has announced season 4 of Ted Lasso will be released this summer, fans are looking forward to seeing Jason Sudeikis as Ted and Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca again.
However, several characters have yet to be confirmed, including Nick Mohammed‘s Nate.
I was really curious at the TopMob Covers Party 2026 this week, hoping to get some intel from Mohammed about his character’s future, but he was totally tight-lipped! He didn’t give away a single hint about whether we’ll be seeing him reprise the role.
We’re not sure if Nate will return, but the show is primarily about the women’s football team. It’s great to have it back, though!
Mohammed was asked what he’d want for Nate’s character if he came back to the show. He explained that he hopes Nate would return to being more like his earlier self from seasons one through three, where he went through a positive journey of forgiveness. He’d prefer that Nate not remain as hardened and conflicted as he became towards the end of season two and the beginning of season three.

Mohammed shared his thoughts on Nate’s character, saying he believes Nate was a deeply troubled person, and that those struggles don’t simply disappear. Nate clearly had insecurities, but with good support, Mohammed feels people can overcome challenges and learn to cope much more effectively.
I sometimes wonder if certain inner struggles truly disappear, though we’ll just have to see if the show’s writers address that in the future.

Juno Temple, Jeremy Swift, Brett Goldstein, and Brendan Hunt are all returning for season four. New cast members joining the show include Tanya Reynolds (known for Sex Education), Jude Mack (Prime Target), Faye Marsay (Andor), Rex Hayes (The Pact), Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World: Dominion), and Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane).
