Ted Lasso’s Breakout Star Is Switching Streamers For His Newest Comedy Releasing This Week

Brett Goldstein, known for his role in Ted Lasso, is starring in a new comedy series that begins streaming later this week.

The popular and award-winning Apple TV comedy series Ted Lasso launched the career of Brett Goldstein. He won two Emmys for his portrayal of the grumpy, gruff Roy Kent in the show’s first two seasons, and then co-created and starred in the Apple TV series Shrinking, which premiered in 2023. He also appeared in the Apple TV film All of You, but now he’s taking on a new comedy project with a different streaming service.

Brett Goldstein’s new movie, Office Romance, comes out later this week. Directed by Ol Parker and co-written by Goldstein himself, the romantic comedy stars Jennifer Lopez as the head of a company that forbids workplace relationships. However, her resolve is challenged when a charming new lawyer (Goldstein) joins her team.

The new movie, Office Romance, will be available on Netflix starting June 5th. It stars Betty Gilpin, Amy Sedaris, Tony Hale, Bradley Whitford, Edward James Olmos, Rick Hoffman, Jodie Whittaker, and many other talented actors including Scott Seiss, Will Sasso, Mary Wiseman, Tony Plana, Roger Bart, Jackie Sandler, Michelle Hurd, M Brian Gallivan, Ali Stroker, Lisa Gilroy, Jessica Keenan Wynn, and Amanda Aday.

Brett Goldstein will be back for season 4 of Ted Lasso later this year. This season sees Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso return to Richmond to face a new challenge: coaching a women’s soccer team in the second division. According to an official description, Ted and the team will learn to take risks and embrace the unexpected throughout the season.

Season four of Ted Lasso will bring back familiar faces like Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca, Juno Temple as Keeley, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, and Jeremy Swift as Higgins, alongside Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent. The new season also introduces several new cast members, including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.

When Ted Lasso returns on August 5th with its fourth season on Apple TV, the show will focus on a women’s soccer team. While the main story shifts, familiar faces like Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) and Dani Rojas (Cristo Fernández) from the AFC Richmond men’s team might still appear as guest stars.
