Teddy Swims Reveals Which Celebrity He Trusts to Babysit His Son

Teddy Swims has childcare under control.

Even though he and his girlfriend, Raiche Wright, have friends like Kelly Clarkson and Thomas Rhett who can watch their 8-month-old son, there’s one person he calls more often than anyone else.

During the Live from TopMob: Grammys red carpet on February 1st, Teddy told Keltie Knight that Meghan Trainor is an amazing mother. He said, “Oh my goodness, that is the best mother in the world right there. Meghan Trainor has just got it, man.”

You know, I’ve always admired Meghan Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara. They’re parents to three adorable kids, and honestly, they just seem like genuinely wonderful people – a real testament to family values, if you ask me!

But that’s no disrespect to his other friends.

Teddy explained that Thomas is already very busy raising his four daughters. He questioned whether Thomas was prepared to have a son, jokingly referring to Thomas as a ‘girl dad’.

Even though Teddy needed a babysitter for the Grammys, he also required help with his performance on January 30th, which celebrated Mariah Carey as MusiCares Person of the Year. He later described it as the scariest moment of his life.

The performer, age 33, described his experience covering the song “Without You,” saying he simply closed his eyes and kept them shut. He explained it was because the original artist was standing nearby while he sang, and he felt awkward performing her song.

Acknowledging Mariah Carey’s achievements, career, and vocal ability, Teddy stated she is undeniably the greatest singer ever.

He said it was a terrible experience. She seemed to enjoy his singing, and he thought she was proud, but he kept his eyes closed throughout the whole performance. He wished she hadn’t watched him sing.

Mariah was just as surprised and thrilled to be recognized – and to be among such talented artists like Teddy – especially with the major music awards show right around the corner.

Speaking to the crowd tonight, surrounded by so many friends and colleagues—people I’ve worked alongside, always looked up to, and some I hadn’t seen in years—was incredibly moving. It truly felt unbelievable, but in the best way possible, and I was deeply touched.
