Tekken 8 Dev Responds to Disastrous Season 3 Backlash, Confirms New Update Schedule

After a rocky start, Bandai Namco has addressed Season 3 of Tekken 8, admitting the update didn’t meet expectations.

The developer acknowledged that the combat experience in the game hasn’t quite lived up to what players were hoping for, according to a recent blog post.

We’re committed to creating battles where attacking and defending feel equally strong, built around our Heat system. This will let players outsmart their opponents with strategic choices and thoughtful gameplay.

Okay, so everyone’s pretty upset with Season 3 right now. The big thing is, they promised us a return to the roots of the game – less of the crazy, overpowered stuff we saw in Season 2 that everyone complained about. It feels like they didn’t deliver on that promise, and that’s what’s frustrating a lot of us players.

The update clearly didn’t live up to expectations, as players have noticed several unbalanced changes.

If you’re expecting the developer to abandon version 3.00 or make major changes to it, you’ll likely be disappointed.

We’ll keep refining the recent changes (from version 3.00.00) to fix any remaining issues with rewards being too high or the game feeling unfair.

We’re releasing a small update today, March 25th, to fix some important bugs and issues that appeared with the launch of Season 3.

We expect that issues like the repeatedly usable, and currently flawed, Heat Smash ability used by Feng Wei will be fixed.

Following this, the next major update is expected around mid-April. It will focus on improving game balance, fixing issues where players earn too many rewards, and optimizing the performance of the Heat system.

We’re planning another update for around late spring, and we’ll be incorporating even more of your feedback this time.

Honestly, do you guys think Season 3 can still be saved? And what’s everyone thinking about Tekken 8 so far? Let’s hear your Heat in the comments – share your thoughts!
