Recently, Tekken 8 has faced some challenges, but fans find themselves chuckling over its partnership with Konami’s fellow series, Atelier Yumina.
In their latest RPG release, developer Gust has outdone themselves by designing a stunning Reina-inspired costume for the main character. On the other hand, the Tekken team has opted for a straightforward accessory – an adorable ahoge – that can be added as a cosmetic feature.
As a dedicated fan, I must clarify that while official artwork depicts Reina wearing Yumia’s attire, the collaboration essentially boils down to a cowlick accessory for Yumia’s head and a floating Puni accessory available for customization, if desired.
Envision a situation where an Atelier developer works diligently to ensure their collaboration partner shines positively, only to discover, on peeking over, that Tekken is also making significant strides.
A user commented, “I don’t use Reina, but this situation seems quite humiliating. It’s almost as if it’s an affront to fans of Reina.
Here’s the art piece that the Tekken team shared earlier, depicting Reina in Yumia’s attire and Yumia dressed as Reina, to celebrate this collaboration.
This is the artwork the Tekken team previously unveiled for our crossover event, featuring Reina wearing Yumia’s clothing and Yumia in Reina’s outfit.
Lastly:
Check out this piece of art that the Tekken team revealed earlier, showing Reina donning Yumia’s costume and Yumia sporting Reina’s attire, as a part of our collaboration.
It’s a tad awkward that Gust seems to put in considerable time and effort into designing Reina’s fighting game outfits, yet all they receive is a single strand of her hair as a result. One can only hope that the developers find this amusing too…
