Katsuhiro Harada, the famous director of the Tekken series, is leaving Bandai Namco, and to celebrate his departure, he’s released a special 60-minute music mix for fans.
I stumbled across this awesome track on SoundCloud, and seriously, it’s a trip down memory lane for any Tekken fan. It takes bits and pieces of music from thirty years of the game – basically every Tekken title ever – and smashes them all together. It’s incredible!
For longtime Tekken fans, this will be a wonderfully nostalgic experience. The game’s creator, Harada, personally worked on the music, including classic sound effects and voice clips.
Harada shared on social media that he’d been putting off DJing at tournaments for three decades, always saying he’d do it ‘someday’ but never actually following through.
I’m releasing a 60-minute, nonstop DJ mix inspired by TEKKEN, and this will be the only time I ever do it. I personally edited the mix, and listening to it is a nostalgic experience, he says.
We believe this is a fantastic small gift, and it will likely resonate with dedicated Tekken players just as Harada explained.
As a huge Tekken fan, I’m always on the lookout for awesome music from the games! I’m definitely going to check out this mega mix – it sounds incredible. It’s also got me thinking back to the good old days when combos weren’t so complicated. Anyone else remember those simpler times? Let’s reminisce in the comments!
