As a seasoned crypto investor and tech enthusiast who has closely followed Telegram’s journey since its inception, I must admit that this latest development has left me both perplexed and somewhat concerned. Pavel Durov, the visionary behind Telegram, has been instrumental in shaping the landscape of digital communication, particularly within the crypto community where his app has been a reliable channel for numerous projects.
Since the beginning of this week, there’s been a lot of buzz within the cryptocurrency community due to the arrest of Pavel Durov, founder of the social messaging app Telegram. On Saturday, he was taken into custody at Le Bourget airport, located near Paris. In recent updates, Durov has been formally accused of being an accomplice in the illicit use of the application.
Instead of facing the accusations, the creator of Telegram is currently prohibited from traveling outside the country until the court case against him is resolved. Fortunately, he was granted the opportunity to avoid pre-trial detention. But, this privilege comes with a condition: he must pay $5 million as bail, according to Reuters’ report.
