Just when it seemed the frequent delays with Terminator games were a thing of the past – after Terminator 2D: No Fate finally came out – another delay has surfaced. Nacon’s Terminator: Survivors, a game set after the events of Judgment Day, has been pushed back to a currently unspecified release date.
Originally planned for early access in 2024, the game was then pushed to 2025. We haven’t heard much about it recently, but there’s good news: Survivors will now launch as a complete game, available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC all at once. It won’t go through an early access period first.
We’ve decided to remove cooperative multiplayer from the game. However, the development team at Nacon Studio Milan has been working hard and made significant improvements this year in areas like world building, combat, story, and overall atmosphere, according to creative director Marco Ponte.
We’ve been testing and talking with players and fans for months. Based on that, we’ve decided to focus on delivering a truly authentic ‘Terminator’ experience with strong shooting and exploration. This means we’re removing the cooperative multiplayer feature. We understand this might be disappointing, but we believe it’s the best way to create the uncompromising post-Judgment Day world we envision.
We’ll let you know the new release date as soon as it’s confirmed. Before that, we’re offering closed playtests under non-disclosure agreements, and you can sign up now at this link.
We understand everyone is excited to see what we’ve created, and we’re eager to share it with you. Right now, we want to thank you for your continued patience as we work hard to make a Terminator game that lives up to the franchise’s reputation. We’ll have more updates soon,” said Ponte.
The game Terminator: Survivors is currently being developed for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can find out more about its offline play and the variety of vehicles you’ll be able to drive while you wait for its release.
