Teyana Taylor has the golden answer to this comical moment.
After a lively conversation between Leonardo DiCaprio and a fellow guest at the 2026 Golden Globes became a popular video online, the identity of his conversation partner was finally revealed – it was his co-star from the movie One Battle After Another.
Teyana, 35, shared with Access Hollywood at the premiere of her film, The Rip, that someone was talking to her, which she found hilarious. She added that she was so out of it that day, she thinks they might have even been discussing KPop Demon Hunters.
Teyana Taylor, who has two daughters – 10-year-old Iman “Junie” Jr. and 5-year-old Rue – with her ex-husband Iman Shumpert, was thrilled when the Netflix film she worked on won Best Animated Film on January 11th. The movie also won Best Original Song later that evening for Huntr/x’s song, “Golden.”
My kids are really into KPop Demon Hunters, so I was happily singing along to it,” she said. “I think he noticed me enjoying the music, and that’s how our conversation started. I was probably too caught up in the moment to even really listen to what he was saying – I was likely just laughing and having a good time.”
Teyana didn’t recall exactly what was said, but social media users quickly noticed Leonardo DiCaprio, 51, jokingly mention “K-Pop” while at his table. He also playfully mimicked her reaction to the movie winning, waving his finger and then clapping.
The actress from All’s Fair wasn’t only thrilled with Huntr/x’s success in defeating demons. She was also overjoyed to win her first Golden Globe award for Best Performance, which she received for playing Perfidia Beverly Hills in One Battle After Another, and actually cried tears of happiness.
Teyana was overcome with emotion as she began her speech, admitting she hadn’t prepared one because she didn’t expect to win. She then addressed young women of color, powerfully stating that their gentleness isn’t a weakness, their complexity isn’t overwhelming, and they don’t need anyone’s approval to be brilliant.
She added, “We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter, and our dreams deserve space.”

As the actress, who attended Strawbridge School, moves forward with her career, she’s remembering advice Leonardo DiCaprio once gave her.
She told TopMob News in December that she’s taking things at her own speed and enjoying the process. Her advice is to avoid getting overly focused on details and just have fun, which is exactly what she’s doing.
