We’re wise to your tricks, Limited Run Games.
When Marvel announced the MaXimum Collection last month, we expected it wouldn’t be long before it came out. They’ve been using this strategy of quick releases recently.
So, here we go! I’m super excited because this collection – it’s got the classic X-Men arcade game from Konami – is coming out really soon, on March 27th for the PS5.
Just a heads-up: this update includes a diverse collection of classic superhero games from many different creators and consoles.
This likely involved complicated licensing issues, so it’s best to get it now before it’s removed from availability.
Here’s the lineup, in case you missed the original announcement:
- Captain America and the Avengers (Arcade, Genesis, NES)
- Silver Surfer (NES)
- Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge (SNES, Genesis, Game Gear, Game Boy)
- Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage (SNES, Genesis)
- Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety (SNES, Genesis)
- X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade)
All the games will be updated with modern features like save states and the ability to rewind gameplay. The X-Men arcade game will also let you play online with friends, using technology that ensures a smooth experience even with internet connections.
