As a huge X-Men fan, I’ve always been fascinated by Professor X. He started the whole team with this amazing vision of humans and mutants living together peacefully, which is what drives them. It’s easy to see him as a perfect hero, but honestly, he’s incredibly powerful – the strongest telepath around, and he’ll do anything to protect mutants. It’s kind of scary when you think about it. He can literally reach into anyone’s mind, learn everything, and they wouldn’t even know it happened. He could control people, erase memories… you can’t even trust your own thoughts around him! He’s shown time and again that he doesn’t really respect people’s privacy, and honestly, anyone who isn’t a little afraid of him is being naive.

Rogue is a formidable opponent with many ways to win, and even a brief touch from her can be extremely harmful if she intends it to be.

Storm is an incredibly powerful member of the X-Men, and that’s high praise considering who she’s with. As an Omega-level mutant, she has complete control over the weather. She can create massive storms – like huge lightning strikes and powerful tornadoes – with ease, and even summon multiple category five hurricanes. Beyond that, she also controls electromagnetic energy and has a magical background, making her even more formidable. Despite being a kind and compassionate person, Storm is one of the most frightening heroes when she’s fighting.

3) Cyclops

Cyclops isn’t frightening due to any superpowers that change reality; he’s scary because he’s relentlessly resourceful and always finds a way to win, even when the situation seems impossible. Scott Summers is a master strategist and fighter who consistently overcomes overwhelming odds. His optic blasts are far more dangerous than they appear, and Wolverine famously described him as having a ‘nuke in his head’ – a pretty accurate assessment.
