As March wraps up, streaming services are updating their offerings, which means some movies and shows will soon be removed. This happens every month because of licensing deals, and while these titles often appear on other platforms, that’s not always guaranteed. So, now is a great time to re-watch your favorite shows or finally check out anything you’ve been meaning to see before it’s gone.
Okay, movie lovers, listen up! April is winding down, and that means a bunch of good stuff is leaving Netflix soon. I’ve put together a list of seven movies and series you absolutely shouldn’t miss before they‘re gone. Seriously, get watching now – you’ll regret it if you don’t!
7) Misery

The film Misery, based on the Stephen King novel, features Kathy Bates and James Caan. After a car accident, novelist Paul Sheldon (Caan) is rescued by Annie Wilkes (Bates), a former nurse who presents herself as his number one fan. She takes him back to her isolated cabin to heal, but her adoration quickly becomes dangerous when she finds out Paul plans to kill off a beloved character in his books. As Paul tries to escape, Annie becomes more and more controlling, even resorting to violence to force him to rewrite his stories to match what she wants.
Kathy Bates received an Academy Award for her performance in the film. This makes Misery the only movie adapted from a Stephen King novel to have ever won an Oscar. The film will be removed from Netflix on March 31st.
6) District 9

Thirty years ago, aliens fleeing their failing home world arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa. Since then, the South African government has kept them isolated in an internment camp known as District 9. A government agent working to keep the aliens segregated begins to change after being exposed to alien fuel, and finds himself forced to seek shelter within District 9 itself.
Released in 2009, the movie was both a commercial success and earned Academy Award nominations for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, and Best Visual Effects. It will no longer be available on Netflix after March 31st.
5) Despicable Me

Released in 2010, Despicable Me tells the story of Gru, a supervillain who plots to steal the moon. He has help from his loyal yellow minions and a huge collection of weapons and gadgets. But when Gru unexpectedly adopts three orphaned girls as part of his scheme, he begins to rethink his priorities.
The hit movie Despicable Me is leaving Netflix on March 31st. It’s the first film in the popular franchise.
4) Despicable Me 2

The animated film Despicable Me 2, which came out in 2013, follows Gru, who’s now retired from villainy, as he teams up with secret agent Lucy Wilde. They’re on a mission to find a stolen, incredibly powerful formula before a new supervillain can use it to take over the world. As the second film in the Despicable Me series, it was a big hit in theaters. It will no longer be available on Netflix after March 31st.
3) Black Sails (Seasons 1- 4)

As a huge fan of classic adventure stories, I was thrilled when I discovered Black Sails. It’s a prequel to Treasure Island, and it really dives into the world before the book, focusing on Captain Flint and his crew of pirates who run things in Nassau, Bahamas. The show has an incredible cast – Toby Stephens, Hanna New, Luke Arnold, Tom Hopper, and Jessica Parker Kennedy are just a few of the amazing actors. But sadly, it’s leaving Netflix on April 16th, so if you haven’t checked it out, now’s the time!
2) All the James Bond Movies

All 26 James Bond films, including Never Say Never Again, will be removed from Netflix on April 20th, just three months after they were added. You can currently watch them all in the James Bond Collection on the streaming service.
1) Bad Boys: Ride or Die

Released in 2024, Bad Boy: Ride or Die is the latest movie in the Bad Boys series, bringing back Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. This sequel to Bad Boys for Life follows Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett as they work to prove the innocence of their deceased Captain, Conrad Howard, who’s been wrongly accused of wrongdoing.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die leaves Netflix on April 8th.
