11 bit studios’ The Alters receives a fresh update following the announcement of 280,000 copies sold. This new version addresses issues such as rebellious character behavior, main quests failing under specific circumstances, and, needless to say, game crashes. It also rectifies a problem that prevented characters from gathering on the last day and makes several tweaks to their side stories.
Additionally, it corrects numerous translation discrepancies and replaces potentially contentious AI-created text within the Command Center. Furthermore, the subtitles in the Social Room should no longer be machine translations. Moreover, a range of issues related to collisions, sound effects, improper HUD scaling, among other matters, have also been addressed.
Pay attention to the updates outlined below, with a warning to avoid spoilers. The game “The Alters” has been released on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and is now also accessible via Game Pass. You can read our review here, where we awarded it 8 out of 10 points, appreciating its visual design, setting, and approach to social survival, while pointing out some less engaging gameplay elements.
