The Apothecary Diaries Announces First Game Adaptation

I’m thrilled to share with fellow enthusiasts that we can immerse ourselves in the intriguing world of “The Apothecary Diaries” like never before! This is the first-ever simulation game inspired by the popular anime, offering us a chance to dive deep into the palace politics and unravel mysteries. The anime wrapped up its second season back in July 2025, followed swiftly by news of an upcoming anime sequel. However, the franchise has kept fans on their toes with the announcement of a game – “The Apothecary Diaries: Harem Strange Tales.”

What makes this game even more appealing is that it runs directly in your web browser, eliminating the need for any installation hassles. It’s designed to be compatible with various devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs, making it accessible to everyone. In the game, you’ll nurture our main character, Maomao, while uncovering a host of mysteries and incidents that unfold within the Imperial Court and entertainment district. So, let’s join hands (or rather, fingers) and embark on this exciting journey together!

Additionally, the game also allows cooperative play where players can collect and grow medicinal herbs while working with other players. Apart from the main characters, Maomao and Jinshi, the game includes 35 characters in total, including Gaoshun, Loulan, Concubine Gyokuyou, and more. The pre-registration has begun on the HTML5 game platform G123, starting July 29th, 2025. The pre-registration campaign also announces new rewards for players based on their achievements. The game is currently only available via the G123 platform, which is operated by CTW Inc. in Japan. A new official X (previously known as Twitter) was also launched to promote the game, where you can keep up with the latest updates and news.

What to Expect from The Apothecary Diaries’ anime sequel

Despite a trailer hinting at a continuation following the end of Season 2, no official confirmation has been given yet about whether it will be labeled as Season 3. At this point, we’re unsure about the specific release format for the upcoming sequel. Although there’s plenty to look forward to before its arrival, we know that it will at least span the fifth volume of Natsu Hyuuge’s light novel series. The first two seasons each spanned two ‘cours’, adapting one volume per ‘cour’. The second season wrapped up the main story from Volume 4, which follows after the Shi Clan’s rebellion ends unsuccessfully.

1. Jinshi’s triumph was nearly effortless and resulted in few losses, all thanks to Loulan’s assistance. As the second season of the series concludes, Jinshi ascends to the position of Imperial Brother, no longer needing to disguise himself as an eunuch or oversee the Rear Palace due to his secret being revealed. In contrast, Maomao goes back to the Verdigris House, now working as an apothecary, while her adoptive father, Luomen, resumes his duties as a physician in the Rear Palace. Although Maomao no longer resides within the palace walls, Jinshi still makes frequent visits to see her despite his hectic schedule.

2. Jinshi’s win was almost too simple, with minimal losses, and it was all thanks to Loulan’s support. The second season of the show finishes with Jinshi taking on the role of Imperial Brother, meaning he no longer needs to pretend to be a eunuch or govern the Rear Palace since his secret has been exposed. Meanwhile, Maomao returns to the Verdigris House and begins working as an apothecary, while her adoptive father, Luomen, resumes his position as a physician in the Rear Palace. Despite living outside of the palace now, Jinshi continues to pay visits to see Maomao despite his busy life.

3. Jinshi’s success was almost effortless and resulted in few casualties, all thanks to Loulan’s guidance. The second season of the series concludes with Jinshi becoming Imperial Brother, which means he no longer needs to masquerade as a eunuch or control the Rear Palace because his secret has been revealed. In contrast, Maomao goes back to the Verdigris House and starts working as an apothecary, while her adoptive father, Luomen, resumes his role as a physician in the Rear Palace. Even though Maomao no longer lives within the palace walls, Jinshi still finds time to visit her despite his busy schedule.

4. The second season of the series wraps up with Jinshi’s victory being almost too easy and resulting in minimal losses, all thanks to Loulan’s assistance. As a result, Jinshi rises to the position of Imperial Brother and no longer needs to pose as an eunuch or manage the Rear Palace because his secret has been exposed. At the same time, Maomao returns to the Verdigris House and begins working as an apothecary, while her adoptive father, Luomen, resumes his work as a physician in the Rear Palace. Despite living outside of the palace now, Jinshi continues to make frequent visits to see Maomao despite his busy life.

5. In the second season finale, Jinshi’s triumph was almost too effortless and resulted in few casualties, all thanks to Loulan’s help. This leads to Jinshi becoming Imperial Brother, forcing him to give up his eunuch disguise and stop managing the Rear Palace since his secret is no longer a secret. On the other hand, Maomao goes back to the Verdigris House and starts working as an apothecary, while her adoptive father, Luomen, resumes his role as a physician in the Rear Palace. Despite no longer living within the palace walls, Jinshi still finds time to visit Maomao despite his busy schedule.

The next installment will showcase various transformations following Season 2, notably a rearrangement of power structures within the palace. Gyokuyou’s influence will increase upon giving birth to a Prince, while the position of Pure Consort remains vacant post-Loulan’s departure. Despite this, as hinted in the teaser video, one consistent aspect will be Jinshi and Maomao collaborating to solve intriguing mysteries that only our brilliant apothecary can unravel.
