The Apothecary Diaries Cast Gets a New Summer Look Ahead of Season 3

Fans of The Apothecary Diaries have a lot to look forward to! Season 3 is scheduled to premiere in October as part of the Fall 2026 anime lineup. Before that, a special Summer Garden Party event will be held in Summer 2026 to tide fans over. Announced last August, the event will take place on August 15th, 2026, at the Pacifico Yokohama National Hall. Aoi Yuki (the voice of Maomao) and Takeo Otsuka (the voice of Jinshi) are confirmed to attend, and more voice actors are expected to participate, though their identities haven’t been revealed yet. The event will feature two shows: one in the afternoon and another in the evening.

The fourth Blu-ray volume of the anime will be available on October 15, 2025. It will include extra features, plus an application to get priority access to tickets for the Garden Party. To build excitement for the event, a new visual has been released on the official website, showcasing the characters. Maomao and Jinshi are featured prominently in the center, with the rest of the cast surrounding them, all dressed in summery, light-colored outfits.

What to Expect From The Apothecary Diaries Season 3

Throughout the series, the story hinted at a rebellion by the Shi Clan, which finally reached its climax in the Season 2 finale. Everything, including Suirei’s actions and Loulan’s position, was carefully orchestrated as part of this plan. In the latter half of Season 2, the Shi Clan launched their full-scale rebellion, but were ultimately defeated by Jinshi and his forces. With his true identity now known, Jinshi can no longer work undercover in the palace. He must now embrace his responsibilities as a member of the royal family and focus on his official duties.

Maomao is back at the Verdigris House, now working as an apothecary. Despite being far apart, she and her partner will continue to team up and investigate the kingdom’s secrets. The next installment, revealed in a new trailer, moves the action to the Northern farming villages, where strange occurrences are causing problems. This story, based on the fifth book by Natsu Hyuga, will take them beyond the palace walls once again.

The third season will be split into two parts, with the second part premiering in Spring 2027 after a short break. Plus, a brand-new movie with an original story by the author is also in the works! While details about the movie’s plot are still under wraps, it’s scheduled to hit theaters in Japan this December. International release dates haven’t been revealed yet, but we can expect more information after the Japanese release.
