In Winter 2025, The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 premiered and spanned over two seasons, delving into Volumes 3 and 4 of Natsu Hyuuga’s light novel. As the story unfolds, the Shi Clan’s rebellion is exposed, prompting the Imperial family to act. Maomao uncovers Shenlu’s scheme and understands it ties to Suirei, who attempted to kill Jinshi in the previous season. Suire re-emerges at the palace disguised as an eunuch, plotting against the royal family once more. She kidnaps Maomao and takes her to a Shi Clan village, where she encounters the wily wife of the Shi Clan’s leader. Since their fateful encounter, Maomao has been held captive within the Shi Clan’s fortress by Shenmei.

Despite the challenges, Maomao was rescued when Jinshi, who had been posing as an Eunuch but revealed his true identity as Ka Zuigetsu, arrived with his army. He defeated the traitors to save her. Now that they are reunited, Jinshi still needs to handle matters with Shishou, the Clan Head, and his wife. With only two episodes left in Season 2, fans eagerly await further updates, as a potential Season 3 could come sooner than anticipated.

On her official account (previously known as Twitter), Natsu Hyuuga posts, “As numerous announcements are approaching from late this month until the start of the next, and the weekends being packed. At present, let’s focus on practice swings – swish, swish, swish, swish, swish!

Hyuuga reveals multiple announcements, which comes as a delightful surprise since the weekly episodes won’t be back for some time following the end of the current season. Season 2 is set to air Episode 23 on June 27th, with the finale scheduled for July 4th, wrapping up events from the fourth novel volume. The series has been a massive success since its beginning, and the second season has not failed to impress. Given its popularity, there’s a strong possibility of a Season 3 announcement as soon as the finale is aired. If the anime follows its typical 24-25 episode format, the upcoming season will cover volumes five and six.
