The ARC Raiders Server Slam beta is off to a rip-roaring start on Steam with a player count of nearly 200,000 — it’s a top seller just behind Battlefield 6, too

I’m really excited about the upcoming release of ARC Raiders. Just a week after the launch of Battlefield 6, Embark Studios gave us a chance to try out the game with their Server Slam test, and it looks fantastic!

I’ve been checking out the ARC Raiders beta all morning, and wow, it’s really pulling people away from other games on Steam! Almost 200,000 of us are jumping in for the Server Slam, and so far, everything seems super stable – it’s a really smooth experience. I’m really impressed!

Embark Studios is now hosting a limited-time open test called the Server Slam, available through October 19 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store). This is your last chance to experience the game’s unique blend of PvP and PvE gameplay before its official launch on October 30. You can jump right in – no codes or pre-registration are required!

The Server Slam lets you explore the Dam Battlegrounds map and try out the game’s progression, crafting, and quest features. It’s also a crucial test for Embark Studios to ensure the servers are ready for launch. As a thank you for participating, everyone who plays will receive an exclusive “Server Slammer” backpack cosmetic when the full game releases. Keep in mind that any progress you make during the Server Slam won’t transfer over to the final game.

Okay, after looking closely, it seems like the beta only has the Dam Battlegrounds map available. That’s a bit of a bummer, but I’m still planning on enjoying it this weekend. I probably won’t play as much as I have been, though, since I also want to focus on the full release of Battlefield 6.

I’m still really excited to see Battlefield 6 at the top of Steam’s sales charts – it’s holding strong as the number one game right now! But ARC Raiders is quickly climbing the ranks and is now number two, and I think that’s because everyone’s been able to try out the beta. It’s awesome to see so much interest!

Everyone’s wondering if ARC Raider will be the best-selling game, and it seems likely given all the positive feedback from its beta tests. Players are really excited to get their hands on it – the announcement of its October release date at Summer Games Fest was met with a lot of disappointment, showing just how much anticipation there is.

I don’t recall the exact first experience I had with the game back in 2024, but the progress Embark Studios has made is truly impressive. Comparing the game from over a year ago to how it plays now makes me optimistic about its future and the team’s dedication to ARC Raiders.

I’ve been really impressed with how smooth and polished this game is – it’s hard to believe it’s actually running on Unreal Engine 5. Despite being built on an engine known for performance issues, it delivers a stunning visual experience with consistently high framerates in its open-world extraction gameplay.

It seems Tim Sweeney was right – ultimately, good performance depends on the developers. Here’s hoping Borderlands 4 is well-optimized!

So, what are you waiting for? Dive into ARC Raiders now – it’s free to play on all platforms! It’s generating a lot of buzz for 2025, and if you enjoy games that blend PvP and PvE action – like Hunt: Showdown – you’ll quickly see why.

Just a reminder for Xbox and PC gamers: ARC Raiders has Play Anywhere support! Buy it once on any Xbox platform, and you can play it on both your Windows PC and Xbox console. That definitely made me want to get it!

ARC Raiders releases on October 30, 2025, on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5.
