Spider-Man is likely the most down-to-earth hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unlike many other superheroes, he’s not wealthy or a god – he’s a regular kid dealing with everyday problems. Even after gaining superpowers from a spider bite, he still faces relatable challenges and genuinely cares about the people around him. This makes him a particularly empathetic and popular character, and now, a fantastic version of Spider-Man is available to stream for free.
Released in 2017, Spider-Man: Homecoming was the latest attempt to relaunch the Spider-Man film series, following the popular trilogy directed by Sam Raimi and the shorter-lived Amazing Spider-Man films starring Andrew Garfield. This movie marked Tom Holland’s first solo outing as Spider-Man, after he was introduced in Captain America: Civil War the previous year. The film was a huge success and many fans immediately hailed it as the best Spider-Man movie yet.
Whether you agree or not is up for debate, but many believe Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man actor of all time. While Tobey Maguire was great, Holland brings a real sense of genuineness to the role. He perfectly captures Peter Parker’s awkwardness and vulnerability, alongside his bravery and heroism. Holland combines humor, charisma, and heartfelt emotion, making his portrayal incredibly relatable and easy to support. He embodies the classic American teenager, and throughout his appearances, including his debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, we’ve seen him grow into a young man still grappling with the burdens of great power and responsibility.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Injected New Energy Into the MCU

Sony Pictures Releasing
I was totally blown away by what happened with the Avengers, and now young Peter Parker’s back home with Aunt May. It’s cool seeing him try to balance being Spider-Man – with Tony Stark guiding him, of course – and just being a normal high school kid. He’s really eager to show everyone he can be more than just your friendly neighborhood hero, you know? But things quickly get serious when this villain called the Vulture shows up and puts everything Peter cares about in danger. It’s a wild ride!
With a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Spider-Man: Homecoming remains an enjoyable film even after eight years. Starting November 1, 2025, you can watch it for free on Tubi – perfect if you haven’t seen it yet or want to revisit a classic Spider-Man story. And keep an eye out for Tom Holland’s return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, currently being filmed and set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
