The Blood of Dawnwalker Will Let Players Use Time in 30-Day Limit as a Currency

The upcoming open-world RPG, “The Blood of Dawnwalker,” includes a narrative-driven 30-day time limit for completing the story. However, according to director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, this timeframe serves more as a flexible resource for players to manage, allowing them ample room to explore and play without the conventional pressure associated with time limits.

In the game ‘The Blood of Dawnwalker’, Tomaszkiewicz likens the idea of investing time to spending money. Players are sometimes offered the opportunity to pay off a character using gold, allowing them to bypass tasks that would normally require their personal time. As Tomaszkiewicz explains in an interview, “We treat this as a resource. At times, we present you with the choice to pay a bribe to avoid wasting time.

In The Blood of Dawnwalker, players have complete autonomy over how they allocate their time, yet the game will also require them to manage a specific resource for certain tasks. Essentially, you’ll always be aware when you’re utilizing this resource and maintain full control over it. However, the developers may strategically manipulate this resource to evoke emotions, particularly in situations where time is running out before you need to complete your objectives.

Allowing the player to decide how they spend their time within “The Blood of Dawnwalker” might not be unexpected, given the studio’s frequent mentions of its “narrative sandbox.” As early as February, creative director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz had discussed the game’s focus on providing players with significant freedom. The fundamental design of the game is centered around maximizing player agency and offering a wide range of choice for the players.

He explained, “It’s about enabling you, as a player, to engage with it. Essentially, we strive to give you control and choices, ensuring a rich gaming experience, while still maintaining our reputation for creating compelling stories.

According to Tomaszkiewicz, this liberty in gaming involves giving players the option to perform actions such as eliminating vital Non-Player Characters (NPCs). He pointed out that such an action could potentially unlock previously undiscovered storylines for the players.

While it’s not like an endless array of choices due to the predefined character, Coen, who has his unique traits, we aim to provide you with the flexibility to mold your own version of him. To illustrate, you have the freedom to eliminate many non-player characters, some of whom are crucial in the game.

He went on to say, “At times, your actions might result in different results or even block certain storylines. This concept, of course, connects with other game mechanics. Given that you’re a Dawnwalker, you have a blood craving at night, which can unfortunately lead to NPCs dying if you aren’t cautious.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating my role in “The Blood of Dawnwalker,” a thrilling new adventure set to drop on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. This epic journey is being masterfully crafted by Rebel Wolves, an esteemed team packed with industry veterans. These seasoned pros have graced the world of gaming with their talents on blockbuster RPGs such as “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” Unfortunately, we don’t have a launch date just yet, but we’re aiming to set foot on store shelves somewhere in 2026. Can’t wait!
