I’m fascinated by the world of *The Boys*, and it’s amazing how becoming a ‘Supe’ is seen as such a huge achievement. Even if a power isn’t *perfect*, Vought International—the company behind the power-giving Compound V—will almost always find a way to make it useful. Once Vought gets involved, these Supes can really hit it big with sponsorships, TV appearances, and even movies! But honestly, most Supes aren’t just aiming for fame. They’re striving for the ultimate goal: a spot on The Seven, Vought’s top-tier team of heroes. That’s where the real power and prestige lie.
The Seven, led by the powerful Homelander, are the world’s first responders to any crisis, from natural disasters to public relations nightmares. But the team isn’t made up of equally skilled heroes. Here’s a ranking of each member of The Seven from *The Boys*, based on their power level.
13) Sister Sage
Sister Sage is different from the other members of The Seven. Homelander specifically chose her, wanting someone who wouldn’t just agree with everything he said. He recognized her intelligence would be a benefit and knew she wouldn’t hesitate to challenge him. However, her powers focus on mental abilities rather than physical strength, which could make her vulnerable in a fight.
12) Firecracker
Sister Sage quickly brings in Firecracker, a well-known podcast host, hoping she can improve The Seven’s public image. Sage thinks Firecracker’s show can be used to control how people see them, benefiting Vought. While Firecracker isn’t a strong fighter, she can create small sparks with her hands – a fun ability, but not a particularly dangerous one.
11) Black Noir 2
Following Black Noir’s death at the hands of Homelander, Vought International wants to maintain the public image that he’s still alive. They decide to use an actor with superpowers to pretend to be Black Noir in public. While this new Black Noir is willing to do whatever Homelander asks, he isn’t nearly as strong as the original and can’t even fly, as that would draw unwanted attention.
10) Translucent
The show *The Boys* begins with Billy Butcher targeting Translucent, a member of the superhero team The Seven who has the power to become invisible. While capturing Translucent proves surprisingly easy, his incredibly tough skin makes him nearly impossible to kill. Ultimately, Butcher’s team creates a special bomb that destroys him from the inside, effectively eliminating him. Because he’s killed by ordinary humans, Translucent doesn’t rank very high on the list of threats.
9) Supersonic
Vought loves publicity, so when they get the chance to find a new member of The Seven through a reality show, they jump at it. Supersonic, a friend of Starlight’s, wins the competition, but his time on the team is short-lived. Although he can create powerful sound waves and has incredible hearing, Supersonic is quickly defeated by Homelander, who easily demonstrates his superior power.
8) The Deep
The Deep has been struggling to maintain his position within Vought Tower due to his misuse of power. Homelander has been controlling him for the past few seasons, which isn’t difficult given the significant difference in their strength. While The Deep possesses incredible strength, resilience, and the ability to swim at high speeds and communicate with sea creatures, he becomes a weakness when away from water.
7) Starlight
When Starlight joins her new team at the beginning of *The Boys*, she faces a cold reception. Her teammates underestimate her, thinking her power to absorb and redirect energy as light isn’t very strong. However, she quickly proves them wrong by honing her abilities and unleashing powerful energy blasts. Later, in Season 4, Starlight gains the power of flight, which helps her evade Homelander’s control.
6) A-Train
A-Train is essential to the plot of *The Boys*. His unstable powers cause the death of Hughie Campbell’s girlfriend, and those issues continue for some time. When he’s at his best, A-Train is incredibly powerful – the fastest person on Earth. His combination of speed and strength allows him to take opponents by surprise and win most fights.
5) Lamplighter
Lamplighter initially retired before the events of *The Boys*, but Vought rehired him. He has the dangerous ability to control existing fire. Vought often used him for difficult and morally questionable tasks, staging them to appear accidental. However, Lamplighter can’t actually *create* fire; he needs a source like a flame or lighter to use his powers.
4) Black Noir
Black Noir isn’t one to waste words, but he’s incredibly powerful. He relies on his strength instead of flashy moves, and his ability to heal quickly makes him even more formidable. However, even his powers aren’t enough to defeat Homelander. After discovering the truth about Soldier Boy, Homelander eliminates Black Noir, a former ally.
3) Queen Maeve
In the beginning of *The Boys*, Homelander and Queen Maeve are presented as Vought’s top superhero pairing. They’re matched in strength and durability – both are incredibly powerful and can withstand bullets. Notably, in Season 3, Maeve demonstrates her dominance by defeating her ex-boyfriend and surviving, a feat very few other Supes can claim.
2) Stormfront
In Season 2, Stormfront joins The Seven, replacing Translucent. Initially a mystery, she quickly proves her power by controlling electricity and moving things with her mind. Though a valuable asset to Vought because of her abilities, her extreme beliefs eventually cause problems. During an attempt to influence Homelander’s son, she’s critically injured by his heat vision and remains hospitalized indefinitely.
1) Homelander
Ryan has a chance against Stormfront because he inherited his father’s abilities. Homelander is the most powerful Supe, incredibly strong, fast, and nearly indestructible. His heat vision is devastating, capable of instantly destroying anything it touches. If defeating Homelander were simple, it would have happened already, but it isn’t, leaving the world of *The Boys* vulnerable to his whims.
The Boys is streaming on Prime Video.
