A video game based on the popular series The Boys is scheduled for release in 2026, and will include actors from the show, such as Jensen Ackles. Superhero content has become incredibly popular over the last fifteen years. Following the success of Marvel movies and Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, we’ve seen a surge in superhero entertainment. The growth of streaming services has also enabled shows with large budgets, giving platforms like Amazon the chance to create their own high-quality superhero series for television.
Thankfully, shows like The Boys exist. Inspired by the comic book of the same name, The Boys offers a fresh and critical look at superheroes, asking what would happen if they weren’t always heroic. It explores a world where superheroes are a brand, driven by profit, and use their powers to control and exploit others. This unique and clever satire has resonated with audiences, and while the fifth and final season is on the way, more content featuring Homelander is planned for release next year.
The Boys: Trigger Warning Announced for PS5 and Meta Quest
A new video game based on The Boys is coming soon! Called The Boys: Trigger Warning, this VR game lets you play as a brand new character who teams up with Billy Butcher after experiencing personal tragedy at the hands of lesser-known superheroes. You’ll work alongside Butcher to bring down Vought and the dangerous supes, and you’ll even develop your own superpowers to help with both action-packed combat and stealth missions.
The VR game The Boys: Trigger Warning is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation VR2 and Meta Quest. Pre-orders are available now for $23.99. Players will explore familiar locations and encounter beloved characters from the show, with original actors Laz Alonso, Jensen Ackles, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne reprising their roles. While this game might not be exactly what some fans were hoping for, it’s a good first step. Interestingly, Hideo Kojima previously worked on a *Boysinspired game that was ultimately cancelled. He might return to that concept once the show ends, but that remains uncertain.
