17 years after Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers first appeared on Disney Channel, they reunited for a spectacular start of their 20th anniversary tour at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on August 10.
During the performance, a member of DNCE, also known as the singer of “Confident”, sang songs from the 2008 movie Camp Rock and its 2010 sequel, such as “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing”. If you remember, Demi Lovato played Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock, a summer music camp for teenagers. Joe Jonas, on the other hand, portrayed Shane Gray, a popstar from the group Connect 3 who was sent to the camp to clean up his act and teach at the same time. Nick and Kevin took on the roles of his bandmates Nate and Jason in the movie.
Camp Rock led to a sequel and a brief romantic relationship between Joe and Demi, who dated for several months in 2010.
It’s no secret that fans are aware Joe married Sophie Turner, who is the mother of their two daughters Willa (5) and Delphine (3), back in 2019, but they split four years later. More recently, Demi tied the knot with Jordan “Jutes” Lutes this past May. And Jutes found Demi’s performance to be really cool for the summer.
On Instagram Stories, Jutes expressed his pride: “Couldn’t be more proud,” he wrote. “I love you sooo much baby @ddlovato.
Over time, Joe and Demi have shown signs of acknowledging their shared history from the movie “Camp Rock,” even performing together in a duet back in 2016. Additionally, Joe has reenacted scenes with his brothers on social media. Consequently, it’s possible that a third installment of “Camp Rock” might occur at some point, as Joe expressed interest in the idea during an interview with Marie Claire in 2017:
“If it seemed fitting, we could consider it,” he said. “For us all-Demi, Nick, and myself-it would be amusing to explore a sequel. We could depict the post-camp days, add a bit of drama. Essentially, create an R-rated film. We’ve tossed around the idea a few times.”
For now, let’s take a look at how the “Camp Rock” cast has evolved since their movie days.
Over the course of time, Joe and Demi have shown signs of affection towards “Camp Rock,” even performing a duet together in 2016 and recreating scenes with his brothers on social media. In fact, when asked about a potential “Camp Rock 3” by Marie Claire in 2017, Joe expressed openness to the idea, saying, “If it’s feasible, I’d be up for it. For all of us – Demi, Nick – it would be amusing to revisit it. We could portray our graduation days, make it a bit mysterious. More like an R-rated movie. We’ve tossed around the idea a few times.” In the meantime, let’s take a look at how the cast of “Camp Rock” has changed over the years.
He was Shane Gray for crying out loud!
The primary vocalist of the Jonas Brothers starred as the main character in the movie “Camp Rock”, portraying the role of the brooding rocker, a part he frequently references for fans by reenacting certain scenes.
Following the band’s disbandment in 2013, it was widely anticipated that Joe would venture into a solo career, given his early release of a solo album prior to the split. However, rather than launching a standalone career, he found success with the band DNCE and their popular single “Cake By the Ocean.
Plus there was that whole Jonas Brothers rebirth.
Before he started dating Sophie Turner from “Game of Thrones” in 2016, Joe had romantic relationships with Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid. They announced their engagement in October 2017. (Paraphrased)
After the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, I was part of an unexpected celebration as Joe and Sophie got hitched at a Las Vegas wedding chapel. Instead of traditional wedding bands, they exchanged ring pops. Later, they had another ceremony in France.
After that, the pair joyfully added two girls to their family: Willa, born in July of 2020, and Delphine, who came along two years afterwards. In 2023, they made public their separation.
In 2024, she shared with Harper’s Bazaar that the situation was heartbreakingly difficult. Our bond was lovely, but parting was tough.
Following her role as the fresh-faced Mitchie Torres, Demi subsequently took the lead in a Disney Channel series titled “Sonny With a Chance“, which ran successfully for a span of two years.
Demi’s music career gained momentum following her departure from the network, with popular songs like “Confident,” “Sorry, Not Sorry,” and “Cool for the Summer” being released, as well as seven studio albums. Additionally, she judged on the show The X Factor, made appearances on Glee and Will & Grace.
In July of 2020, the popular singer became engaged to actor Max Ehrich, but they parted ways just two months later. Then, starting from August 2022, Demi made her relationship with musician Jutes public. They tied the knot in May 2025.
For approximately ten years, Demi has openly shared her experiences with mental health issues. She also spoke about her close call with a drug overdose in 2018 during the 2021 documentary titled “Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil“.
Among the band members, it was their youngest colleague who filled the drummer position in the two films, identified as Nate Gray. Notably, Nick was the only sibling who embarked on an acting career. He became a prominent figure in the television series “Kingdom” and “Scream Queens” on Fox. Additionally, he played significant roles in the blockbuster hits “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (2017) and its sequel in 2019. In 2020, Nick also joined the coaching team for NBC’s “The Voice.
Apart from that, Nick’s victories in the music sphere persisted, with him putting out two solo albums and reaching the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 as a standalone act with his track “Jealous”.
In 2019, when The Jonas Brothers announced their reunion and subsequently released the popular song “Sucker”, Nick admitted responsibility for the band’s split earlier, as revealed in their 2019 documentary titled “Chasing Happiness“.
In December 2018, he got married to the actress from Baywatch, Priyanka Chopra, over a three-day wedding extravaganza in India, which included multiple ceremonies. In January 2022, they were blessed with a daughter named Malti Marie.
“Yeah man, this is where Connect 3…connected.”
The oldest member of the Jonas family portrayed Jason Gray, a third of the popular band in the film and an avid fan of Camp Rock. Later, they all appeared in their own Disney Channel series titled “Jonas” for two seasons, simultaneously continuing to produce music under The Jonas Brothers moniker.
Upon the band’s announcement of a hiatus in 2010, I, Kevin, embarked on a new journey focusing on family life with Danielle Jonas. Our family expanded with the births of our daughters, Alena Rose Jonas in 2014 and Valentina Angelina Jonas in 2016. Together, we starred in the TopMob series “Married to Jonas.” In addition to this, I delved into the business world, establishing real estate development and construction firm JonasWerner. I also held the position of CEO at The Blu Market Company and made a noteworthy guest appearance on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” as a contractor.

Alyson will release her memoir Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything in August 2025.
Following her portrayal of Camp Rock diva Tess Tyler, Meaghan subsequently appeared in “Mean Girls 2” and led the brief TV series “10 Things I Hate About You,” assuming the role previously held by Bianca Stratford.
Apart from appearing on “Jessie, Melissa & Joey” and “House”, Meaghan also regularly appeared on MTV’s “Awkward”, and she made her London stage debut in the play “The Actor’s Nightmare” in 2019.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but gush over the multitalented Canadian artist who brought Barron James to life in the iconic Camp Rock films! Beyond his captivating performances as a breakdancer on screen, he’s now making waves behind the scenes, excelling as a songwriter, producer, and choreographer.
Jordan remained friends with Demi, posting a sweet Instagram tribute in December 2019.
He wrote, “For more than ten years, you’ve been genuine to me and my family, and I’ve always had your best interests at heart.” Put simply, “I’ve got your back.

After appearing in a Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM), the Canadian celebrity continues her career as both an actress and a singer. Additionally, she manages her own YouTube channel.
