He explained that, like with Superman, his initial choices don’t necessarily get the role, and a full audition process is still needed. While he wouldn’t rule out casting a major star without an audition, he suggested it’s unlikely. As a huge DC fan, I’m trying to stay patient, but the wait for news on who will play Batman in *The Brave and the Bold* feels long! It’s still a few years off, and James Gunn doesn’t want it to come out in the same year as *The Batman Part II* in 2027, meaning we’re probably looking at a 2028 release for *The Brave and the Bold* at the earliest. Honestly, that gives them plenty of time to find the *perfect* actor – and knowing Gunn’s track record, I’m confident they’ll do just that!
