Ubisoft recently shared an update on The Division 3, marking the start of 2026. The company first announced they were beginning work on the third game in the series back in 2023, but haven’t revealed much since then. Now, at the beginning of 2026, a Ubisoft developer has offered new details about The Division 3 that will likely please fans of the series.
During this week’s New Game+ Showcase, Julian Gerighty, producer of the The Division series, shared a few details about the upcoming The Division 3. He described the next game as a “monster,” suggesting it will be much larger in scope than both The Division and The Division 2. Gerighty also believes The Division 3 will be as influential as the first game in the series, hinting that it will introduce significant new features and won’t just be a simple expansion of The Division 2.
According to Julian Gerighty, work on The Division 3 is already underway. He confirmed that the game has been officially announced and described it as a potentially huge project. While he couldn’t share many details, he believes The Division 3 has the potential to be as influential as the original Division game. The team at Massive is working incredibly hard to make it happen.

We don’t know much about The Division 3 beyond the fact that it’s in development. Ubisoft hasn’t announced a release date or even which gaming systems it will be available on. One of the biggest mysteries for fans is where the game will take place. The first Division game was set in New York City, and the second in Washington D.C., so it’s likely The Division 3 will be set in another major American city, but the location remains a secret.
Ubisoft is expected to share more details about The Division 3 sometime in 2026, addressing fans’ outstanding questions. In the meantime, they continue to support The Division 2 with regular updates and new content to keep players engaged until the next installment is released.
