The Easter Eggs in Selena Gomez’s Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Return

This is just what you wanted in your wildest dreams.

Selena Gomez will be reuniting with her former co-star David Henrie in a special two-part finale for the second season of Disney+’s *Wizards Beyond Waverly Place*. The finale will premiere on October 8th.

A new clip from the final episode of the show, obtained exclusively by TopMob News, offers a preview of Selena Gomez’s third appearance after two cameos in season one. The clip shows Selena as Alex Russo, alongside her brother Justin (played by David) and Justin’s wife, Giada (Mimi Gianopulos). They visit the Gossip Stone (Harvey Guillén) to try and figure out who might be targeting the Russo family.

In the latest episode, I was really getting to the bottom of things, trying to understand if our listeners knew anything about who might be targeting us. It was all about figuring out if someone out there had a clue about the people coming after us.

When the stone asks what Alex might have done to upset someone, Selena adopts her character’s playful, sarcastic tone and replies, “Nothing! At least, not that we know of…or are telling.”

Once Justin confirms they are the well-known Russo family, the Gossip Stone starts naming some of their old enemies from *Wizards of Waverly Place*. This includes Jerko Phoenix (J. Evan Bonifant), Justin’s competitor from WizTech in season one, the Evilini family, also from season one, and Gorog, the Angel of Darkness (John Rubinstein), who appeared in season four.

After hearing the exhaustive list, Alex deadpans, “Wow, we’ve made a lot of people mad.”

Selena, who also produces the show with her TV brother, hasn’t appeared as her famous character very often, but she’s made it clear that it’s not because she doesn’t *want* to be a regular cast member on *Wizards Beyond Waverly Place*.

She stated in an August 7th podcast interview with Jake Shane, on *Therapuss*, that she identifies as Alex.

Selena shared, “I really connected with the character.” She described playing Alex as a wonderful experience, explaining, “It’s hard to put into words, but it felt like revisiting a cherished time in my life, and I truly enjoyed it.”

Selena isn’t alone in feeling this way. Her brother, David, who stars in the show’s revival, said it felt like no time had passed at all when he revisited his role after more than ten years.

It felt like no time had passed at all, as if we were picking up right where we left off after 13 years,” he said to *People* magazine last year. “We hadn’t lost our rhythm.”

Oh my gosh, you guys, the *entire* second season of *Wizards Beyond Waverly Place* is dropping on October 8th! I’ve been waiting *forever* and I seriously can’t even handle the excitement! And just in case you need even *more* amazing TV in your life, they’ve got a bunch of other premieres coming up too… but honestly, it’s all about the Wizards for me!

The more you learn, the more unsettling it becomes, with whispers of connections to other unexplained deaths.
