Konami announced today that Silent Hill 2 has reached over five million players thanks to a combination of game sales and downloads from subscription services.
The total sales figure includes both physical and digital copies sold on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S, as well as downloads and subscriptions.
As a big fan, I was checking the latest sales numbers for the Silent Hill 2 remake, and Konami said they’d sold 2.5 million copies by October 2025. What’s really interesting is that about half of those players are accessing the game through subscription services – right now, that means PlayStation Plus Extra. It’s cool to see so many people enjoying it that way!
Konami intended to revive the Silent Hill series, and the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake played a key role in that. This has led to exciting new projects like Silent Hill F, which received a good response last year, and Silent Hill: Townfall, expected in 2026. Additionally, Bloober Team, the studio behind the Silent Hill 2 remake, is also fully remaking the original Silent Hill game from the PlayStation 1.
Our Silent Hill 2 PS5 review gave the game a 9 out of 10. We found that the remake successfully preserves what made the original 2001 game a classic – including its memorable story, engaging exploration, and impactful combat.
