Not all Marvel films have done well after being released on streaming services. Specifically, The Fantastic Four: First Steps hasn’t performed as hoped since it premiered on Disney+.
According to TV Fandom Lounge, Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps had the lowest five-day opening viewership of any Marvel Cinematic Universe movie released on Disney+. It only received 4.9 million views, making it the least-watched MCU title on Disney+ during its opening weekend.
TV Fandom Lounge also noted that the show’s viewership was 23% lower than the first Marvel release of the year, Captain America: Brave New World (6.4 million viewers), and 10% lower than Thunderbolts (5.5 million viewers). This suggests a continuing decline in audience interest, which is concerning for Marvel and Disney. In fact, the film had even lower viewership than The Marvels, which was considered a critical and commercial disappointment.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is now available to stream on Disney+.
