It’s been two years since the last Fast X movie ended with a major cliffhanger. While the studio originally planned an ambitious ending to the Fast Saga series, there haven’t been many updates about its future. Vin Diesel, who stars in and produces the films, has shared some hints on social media, including possible cars for the next movie, but the grand finale hasn’t materialized. Now, there’s a new development that’s raising eyebrows: Vin Diesel has announced a new actor joining the cast.
Vin Diesel recently announced on social media that Cristiano Ronaldo will be joining the cast of the Fast and Furious franchise. Diesel shared a photo with Ronaldo, confirming they’ve written a role specifically for the soccer star, responding to fan speculation about his potential involvement. He described Ronaldo as ‘a real one’ and welcomed him to the ‘Fast family’.
The Fast Saga Bringing In Cristiano Ronaldo for a New Role (According to Vin Diesel)
Cristiano Ronaldo hasn’t acted in any movies before, but his worldwide fame would seem to make him a good fit for the Fast & Furious series. However, Vin Diesel keeps talking about another Fast movie without revealing any real details about when it will actually be made. Universal Studios hasn’t announced a release date, and there’s been no news suggesting the project is moving forward – even Fast X in 2023 faced multiple delays.
Vin Diesel recently announced that actor Rinaldo will appear in the next Fast & Furious movie. This follows Diesel’s previous statements about his vision for what he calls the final film in the series. He’s stated the movie needs to return to its roots – specifically, being set in Los Angeles and focusing on street racing and car culture, like the original film. Diesel also wants to find a way to include Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, despite Walker’s passing in 2013. The franchise has largely avoided directly addressing Walker’s death, only referencing his character or showing his car. While the filmmakers could potentially use visual effects and Walker’s brothers, as they did in Furious 7, there’s been no official confirmation about the plot or title of the next installment – whether it’s Fast X Part 2, Fast 11, or something else entirely.
The biggest uncertainty surrounding the next Fast movie is the complicated cliffhanger ending of Fast X. Dom was driving off a collapsing dam, and Roman, Tej, Ramsey, and Han were in a crashing plane, with the added surprise of Gisele’s unexpected return with a submarine. The next film has a lot of loose ends to tie up, and it seems to be moving further away from the series’ roots in street racing. Because of all this, fitting Cristiano Ronaldo into the story might actually be the simplest challenge the filmmakers face.
