Hazbin Hotel Season 3’s Biggest Challenge Is Happening Behind the Scenes

Though Hazbin Hotel was created by Vivienne Medrano as part of her Hellaverse, it’s different from her other series, Helluva Boss. While Helluva Boss is made by her studio, SpindleHorse, Hazbin Hotel is a collaboration between A24, Amazon MGM Studios, and Bento Box Entertainment. This partnership provides more support and security for the show, but also introduces some new difficulties.

In a recent interview with We’re Watching That, Hellaverse composer Sam Haft explained that creating music for the two series is quite different. One series demands close coordination between all involved productions, while Helluva Boss allows for much more creative freedom and requires less supervision, according to Haft.

Getting something done on a big production usually requires approval and funding from multiple companies, which can be a complicated process. With Helluva Boss, though, it’s much simpler because it’s made by just one studio, SpindleHorse, allowing for quick decisions and funding without needing to coordinate with several different groups.

As a fan, I’m excited that multiple studios are working on Hazbin Hotel because it hopefully means the show will last a long time. But I’ve also heard it’s making things tricky creatively. It sounds like the biggest hurdle for Season 3 is making sure everyone involved agrees on big choices before moving forward, which can slow things down.
