The Finals‘ Season 8 is in full swing, and a new Halloween-themed update just dropped! It includes a fun new game mode, lots of spooky rewards, updated items in the store, and several smaller improvements to enhance gameplay.
Update 8.6.0 adds a fun new game mode called ‘Ghoul Rush’, where players experience an infection-based challenge.
In this game mode, players battle it out on the Alfa Acta P.E.A.C.E. Centre map. Players choose to play as either a medium or heavy class, each with a pre-determined set of equipment. Medium players get a P90, Goo Grenade, explosive mine, and proximity sensor, while heavy players are equipped with an M60, barricade, pyro mine, and lockbolt.
This isn’t your typical free-for-all. When a player is defeated, they come back as a ghoul – either a quick imp armed with a dagger, or a powerful ogre wielding a sledgehammer.
Based on our experience, this game mode is most fun when played with friends. Staying with your teammates is key to surviving against ghouls and ogres, but be careful! Even if you team up, there’s always a chance someone might turn on you for a share of the rewards.
Alongside this special game mode, we’re launching a new event called The Haunted Harvest. Players can earn unique rewards with a pumpkin theme!
Every day for the next two weeks, you’ll get a chance to open a special pumpkin and win one of fourteen free Halloween prizes.
Besides these fantastic rewards, collecting all 14 pumpkins will unlock the unique Swamp Formal outfit, transforming you into a fearsome green ogre. The in-game store has also been updated with new items to celebrate Halloween!
The latest update isn’t just about new content, they’ve also been squashing bugs and polishing things up. I’ve noticed little tweaks to the maps, some cool new cosmetic options, and even the kill cam looks better now. It just makes the whole game feel smoother and more enjoyable, honestly.
