The first game officially certified for the ROG Xbox Ally on Xbox, will be accessible ahead of the device’s launch in October. As a result, Steam Deck owners will have an early opportunity to try out this handheld gaming experience before ROG Xbox Ally users, although it remains uncertain what level of compatibility this game will actually offer on the Steam Deck compared to the officially certified ROG Xbox Ally version.
Today’s Instagram update from Asusrog declared that “Gears of War: Reloaded” has been officially endorsed as Xbox Ally-certified.
The post stated, “Reloaded will be available on August 26th, and it has now been officially endorsed by ROG Xbox Ally! Prepare yourself for a legendary experience like no other, anywhere you go.
As announced by Xbox, the game “Gears of War: Reloaded” will be playable right from launch on Xbox Game Pass for both Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Cloud versions when it launches on August 26th, prior to the ROG Xbox Ally release. Positioned as a tribute to the series, this new game is essentially an updated version of the first “Gears of War”, featuring advanced upgrades, optimization, and enhanced visuals.
As a fellow gaming enthusiast, no matter which version you pick, we’re all good to play together due to the magic of cross-play and cross-progression! We can team up in a shared campaign mode that supports both split-screen shenanigans at home and online adventures with friends. Plus, get ready for some intense versus multiplayer action reminiscent of the original game, but this time it’s even better with support for 4K graphics, sharper textures, and a smooth 120 FPS cap!
A few gamers sampled a bit of the remastered version last June during the trial run of Gears of War: Reloaded. While there were initial hiccups regarding player connectivity, it was generally praised by those who fondly remembered the game’s strategic combats. One recurring criticism from players was about the hit detection, which the developers aim to address before the final releases of the game.
Since Gears of War: Reloaded is heading to Xbox’s latest handheld devices, one of its major attractions lies in its exceptional performance on these portable platforms. According to the Steam page for the game, it’s been meticulously optimized for both PC and handheld systems, ensuring a visually stunning experience “on any screen size.” As a gamer, I’m really looking forward to taking this epic adventure with me wherever I go!
Although it’s compact in size, the ROG Xbox Ally PC comes with Windows 11 pre-installed. It functions both as a regular computer and a gaming console. The high-performance version of this handheld device, called Ally X, will boast 24 GB of RAM and enhanced graphics capabilities for smoother gameplay.
As a gamer, I can’t wait to dive into the action with Gears of War: Reloaded, the first officially certified game for handheld devices! With this groundbreaking move, I can’t help but wonder what other fantastic gaming experiences await me on my new PC handheld device. The anticipation builds as we approach the Gamescom Event starting August 20th, where we’ll likely get more details about ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X – two exciting additions to my gaming arsenal!
In June, Microsoft revealed that more than 20 games will be playable at an upcoming gaming event in June, some of which are versions made for the ROG Xbox Series X. This will give fans their initial chance to try out these systems and evaluate their functionality before they hit the market later this year. It’s anticipated that the start of pre-orders for these devices will coincide with the beginning of the event, although there’s been a hint that the various handheld versions might be priced at $700 and $1,050 respectively. However, it won’t be until August 20th at Gamescom that the actual prices of the systems will be disclosed officially.
