Lucasfilm just released a new video for Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, the upcoming Star Wars animated series focusing on Darth Maul. The show will begin streaming on Disney+ on April 6th with the first two episodes. New episodes will then be released in pairs each week, culminating in a two-episode finale on May 4th.
The new show picks up after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It follows Maul as he tries to restore his criminal organization on a planet the Empire hasn’t reached. There, he meets a discouraged young Jedi student who might become his apprentice and help him continue his quest for revenge.

What happens in the new Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord video?
This video gives a sneak peek at what happened after Darth Maul lost to Obi-Wan Kenobi. Following that defeat, the Empire essentially abandoned Maul, replacing him with Count Dooku. The video highlights Maul’s intense desire for revenge against the Empire and includes glimpses of the show’s exciting action scenes. Star Wars veteran Sam Witwer returns to voice Darth Maul, a role he previously played in the acclaimed animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels.
I’m so excited about the new Star Wars series, Maul – Shadow Lord! It’s created by Dave Filoni, building on the amazing characters George Lucas originally came up with. And the voice cast is incredible – Wagner Moura, Gideon Adlon, Richard Ayoade, Dennis Haysbert, Chris Diamantopoulos, Charlie Bushnell, Vanessa Marshall, David C. Collins, A.J. LoCascio, and Steve Blum are all part of it! Dave Filoni is also executive producing, along with Athena Yvette Portillo, Matt Michnovetz, Brad Rau, Carrie Beck, Josh Rimes, and Alex Spotswood. Brad Rau is also supervising director, which is awesome!
