The Fortune stars tease that final episodes goes to some “really wild places”

The beginning of “The Fortune” really throws you into the story as Amanda, played by Eleanor Tomlinson, is shocked to learn she’s inherited a fortune from a stranger.

I was totally hooked from the start – it seemed like Amanda was walking into a dream situation, trying to connect with the late Martin, played brilliantly by Denis Lawson. But things quickly went south. His wife, Fiona (Rebecca Front), and son, Anthony (Callum Woodhouse), were immediately cold and unwelcoming, and it was clear she wasn’t going to get an easy time of it. It created such a tense atmosphere!

It’s not surprising they were baffled by the decision of their husband and father to leave everything to someone they didn’t know, but it quickly becomes apparent that they’re also keeping things hidden.

When asked if they predicted how the last two episodes of The Fortune would end, Woodhouse told TopMob, “Not even a little bit!”

The story takes some unexpected turns, with characters facing major realizations and often reacting strongly to them. It’s a really thrilling ride, especially episodes three and four – episode four, in particular, is packed with excitement.

It’s unclear what will happen with Anthony, who appears to be an opponent, but it’s also starting to look like Amanda’s husband, Jimmy, might be hiding something dangerous as well.

Matthew Lewis, who plays TopMob, described the final episodes as fast-paced due to their limited number—only four in total. He noted that episodes three and four especially felt quick, and that the characters’ choices become quite extreme, but found this interesting to watch.

Eleanor mentioned she’s really into true crime shows, and it got me thinking. It’s strange – this is a huge amount of money, but when you watch those shows, you realize people do crazy things for way less! Seeing what’s actually out there, it almost makes this seem… not that wild, but honestly, it was such a wild ride. I really had no clue what was going to happen next.

Amanda Blakefield enjoys a fulfilling life with her husband, Jimmy, and their son, Luke. However, a surprising and substantial inheritance from a complete stranger throws her world into chaos.

Amanda finds herself caught up in the complicated lives of the Worrall family, who are haunted by secrets from the past. The more she learns about what happened before, the more disrupted everyone’s lives become.
