
While The Game Awards will eventually stop growing in popularity, that time hasn’t come yet. Viewership numbers for the 2025 show are actually higher than they were in 2024.
Last week’s event drew around 171 million viewers worldwide through livestreams – an 11% jump from the 154 million who watched in 2024. Viewership increased on both YouTube and Twitch, and more people voted for the awards this year, with a 10% rise in participation.
Worldwide, more people watched thanks to livestreams, especially in China, where it was available on a wider range of platforms than before.
