Good news for Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham fans: they’re making a movie together! While it’s not out yet, you can enjoy one of Ritchie’s best films – his 2019 gangster hit – for free on Pluto TV in the meantime.
Starting November 1st, you’ll be able to watch The Gentlemen on Pluto TV for free. This action comedy, written and directed by Guy Ritchie, stars Matthew McConaughey as an American drug lord trying to sell his business in England. His plans quickly lead to blackmail and various schemes against him. The movie also features a strong supporting cast, including Michelle Dockery (from Downton Abbey), Jeremy Strong (from Succession), Colin Farrell (from The Penguin), and Hugh Grant (from Bridget Jones).
Critics generally liked The Gentlemen when it came out in theaters, giving it a 76% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and earning it a “certified fresh” designation. Audiences loved it even more, with an 84% score. The film was also a financial success, earning $115 million worldwide on a $22 million budget – a welcome change for director Guy Ritchie after some recent box office disappointments. However, instead of making a sequel for theaters, Ritchie decided to continue the story as a spinoff series on Netflix, also called The Gentlemen.
Inspired by and expanding on the 2019 film The Gentlemen, the series follows Eddie Horniman (Theo James) who unexpectedly becomes the Duke of Halstead. He inherits his family’s large estate, only to discover a hidden, thriving marijuana operation run by the sharp and dangerous Susie (Kaya Scodelario) and her powerful father, Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone).
The first season concluded with Eddie becoming a partner in the Glass family’s large marijuana business, setting up several interesting plotlines for Season 2, which is coming soon. Season 2 will again feature stars Guy Ritchie, Kaya Scodelario, and Ray Winstone, and will introduce new cast members including Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone, Ian Bonar, and Cosimo Fusco. Viewers can expect the new season to arrive on Netflix in 2026.
Guy Ritchie & Jason Statham Announce Sixth Collaboration
Following his departure from Road House 2 earlier this year, director Guy Ritchie has lined up his next film. He will be adapting J.J. Connolly’s 2011 novel, Viva La Madness, and will both write and direct. Jason Statham will star as X, an unnamed drug dealer in London. Filming is scheduled to start in January 2026, and more actors will be announced soon. Ritchie and Statham have collaborated on several successful films before, including Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), Snatch (2000), Revolver (2005), Wrath of Man (2021), and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023).
The Gentlemen arrives on Pluto TV on Nov. 1.
