The God Slayer confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC; first details, trailers, and screenshots

Pathea Games recently revealed the first trailers and screenshots for their upcoming open-world action RPG, The God Slayer. The game, set in a steampunk city inspired by Eastern aesthetics, was first announced in July 2023 as part of the PlayStation China Hero Project. Pathea Games also confirmed that The God Slayer will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam. A specific release date hasn’t been announced yet.

Explore a stunning steampunk city inspired by the East, ruled by powerful, god-like beings called Celestials. In this expansive open-world RPG, you play as an Elemancer – someone with control over the elements – who dares to defy their rule. Driven by a thirst for revenge, you’ll challenge and ultimately overthrow these gods, becoming known as the God Slayer.

The God Fall

In the distant past, the Celestials brought the world and all living things into being. They crafted these creatures to develop a life energy called qi. When a creature died, this potent qi would return to the Celestial realm, sustaining the Celestials and allowing them to live forever.

But some people learned to control qi, turning it into elemental abilities like fire, water, earth, metal, and wood. These individuals became known as Elemancers. The Celestials were furious, believing this power belonged to them alone. As a warning, they launched a sudden and devastating attack on the powerful Zhou Kingdom. Overnight, the king and many Elemancers were tracked down and killed, a tragedy that became known as the God Fall.

The Elemeancer

You are Cheng, and your family was tragically killed by the Celestials during a devastating event known as the God Fall. Now, you’re on a journey to protect your people and get revenge for those you’ve lost.

You’ll grow stronger by mastering your natural abilities, learning new techniques from old texts and wise teachers, and improving your inner energy. If you train hard, you’ll eventually become powerful enough to face even the most powerful beings.

The elements around you—fire, water, earth, and steam—all react with each other in predictable ways: fire burns wood, water puts out fire, steam forms from heated water, and earth can block things. How you use these interactions in combat is your choice!

The Star Fall Society

For generations, people have worshiped the Celestials as gods who created the world. However, their behavior during the God Fall caused deep and lasting pain for many. Like Cheng, numerous people were harmed by these very gods, but most remain afraid to challenge them.

Despite the Celestial conquest, a group of courageous rebels has emerged to fight back. Known as the Star Fall Society and led by a mysterious figure called “Master,” they are a team of powerful Elemancers determined to defeat the Celestials and restore humanity’s freedom. They find a valuable ally in Cheng, who joins their fight.

The Star Fall Society will do whatever it takes to kick the Celestials out of this world.

The Capital of Zhou

The game is primarily set in the capital city of the Zhou Kingdom, situated where two large rivers flow into the Eastern Sea. This city is a hub of advanced steam technology, filled with airships, steamboats, monorails, and other steam-powered vehicles. While the wealthy enjoy modern comforts like air conditioning and mechanical washing machines, most of the population struggles, working in dirty factories or facing hardship under the rule of the nobility.

This city is divided by powerful groups, each looking out for themselves. To stand a chance against the Celestial army and those who support them, you’ll need to build alliances, call in favors, and even offer bribes. But be careful – you’re always being watched, and one wrong move could cost you everything.
