Be warned: This article contains major spoilers about the ending of Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor. You can watch the episodes with a Hulu subscription.
As a huge fan of The Golden Bachelor, I can’t believe we’re almost at the end of Season 2! After watching Mel Owens meet the families of three amazing women, it’s down to just Cindy Cullers and Peg Munson. Seriously, who will he pick? Well, I’ve heard the answer, and I’m dying to share it!
As is so often the case, Reality Steve has come through with the alleged winner of Mel Owens’ season, and he posted the spoiler to Instagram:

Peg Munson, a 62-year-old retired firefighter and bomb technician from Las Vegas, is expected to say yes when Mel Owens proposes to her in the season finale of The Golden Bachelor’s second season, according to the podcaster who shared the information.
I was as surprised by this elimination as I was with Hometowns. Cindy and Mel seemed to hit it off right away, and honestly, I don’t think Mel has the stamina to keep up with Peg, despite what he says.
Things didn’t go so well when he met her family in Las Vegas with her daughter, Dakota. Dakota noticed he struggled to explain why he liked her mom, making her question his intentions. It remains to be seen if this relationship will last!

I’ve been pretty doubtful about this season of The Golden Bachelor. It’s been quite dramatic – mainly because of some comments Mel Owens made on a podcast before the show started. Throughout the season, it’s been mentioned that the 66-year-old attorney openly said he preferred dating women aged 45 to 60, and that he intended to send home anyone older than that.
That would have been difficult to do, as only one woman on the cast was in her 50s, and she was sent home on the first night. Mel Owens apologized to the women immediately upon meeting them, and then again publicly before the season aired, but Peg Munson admits she had reservations going in. She told US Weekly:
After listening to that podcast, I went into the mansion already a little wary of him. I really needed to get to know the person he was. Honestly, I’ve dated guys who were gorgeous and successful before, but those things don’t really mean much to me. I’m much more interested in what’s on the inside – that’s what I was hoping to find out.
It seems he made a good impression, because they’re now planning a wedding! I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the rest of Season 2.
Next Wednesday, October 29th, ABC will air a special episode called “Women Tell All” at 9 p.m. ET, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the season. It will also be available to stream on Hulu the following day. Then, on November 5th, Mel Owens is expected to bring his final two contestants to the Fantasy Suites before the season finale.
