The Grand Tour reveals first look at new era as Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May replaced

Prime Video has announced the new hosts for The Grand Tour, following Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond’s departure.

The original hosts presented the car show for eight years, starting in 2016, and finished with a final episode called ‘One for the Road’ in 2024.

The new cast includes Francis Bourgeois, a popular train enthusiast who was rumored to join the show last year. He’s acknowledged that he has a lot to live up to.

He’ll be co-hosting the new series with James Engelsman and Thomas Holland, the talented duo behind the popular car YouTube channel, Throttle House.

The three hosts will lead the six-episode series, which Prime Video promises will both celebrate the show’s history and bring a fresh, exciting feel to it. Expect plenty of action, powerful vehicles, and humor.

The new team will be taking on big questions about cars and driving while facing tough conditions in locations around the globe.

The team will journey across the Angolan desert in all-terrain vehicles and delve into the exciting car scene in Malaysia, before traveling to California to put new performance cars through their paces.

Along with the announcement, Prime Video shared a video of Jeremy Clarkson reviewing applications from potential hosts for the upcoming season.

Clarkson jokingly calls Bourgeois ‘the train man from the internet’ and then gives his resume a thumbs-up, essentially approving it.

You know, I stumbled across this guy, Bourgeois, online – he’s become something of a celebrity in the trainspotting world! But what really surprised me was learning he’s not just a hobbyist. He’s a fully qualified mechanical engineer, and he actually worked at Rolls-Royce. It’s a really cool combination – practical engineering knowledge and a genuine passion for trains.

He acknowledged a challenging situation, saying it would be like watching Mo Farah run in oversized, ill-fitting wellies. It might be a bit clumsy and uncomfortable at first, but ultimately, it would be fascinating to see how things unfold.

Engelsman shared, ‘I’ve collaborated with Thomas on car films for nearly ten years. It turns out the final piece of the puzzle was Francis Bourgeois! Now the real car fun can begin.’

Holland initially reacted to the news of The Grand Tour’s reboot and the replacement of Clarkson, Hammond, and May by saying anyone who took on that job would have to be foolish.
