The Great British Sewing Bee 2025 winner finally confirmed in season 11 finale

I was totally glued to the screen tonight for the finale of The Great British Sewing Bee! It was amazing watching the three finalists give it their all, trying to wow Esme and Patrick. But, as always, there could only be one winner, and it was so exciting to find out who it was!

Following a series of tough challenges – including designing slip dresses, creatively altering sheer fabrics, and crafting a winning illusion outfit – Caz was crowned the winner of The Great British Sewing Bee in 2025.

The 60-year-old man from the West Midlands won the competition, beating out finalists Orla and Yasmin. He admitted he was surprised to be named the winner.

“I’m so grateful! I actually won something – I never win anything!” she exclaimed. “I didn’t believe I could pull it off. I remember calling my husband after my first runway walk, completely amazed by how talented everyone was.”

She explained that she always loved sewing as a child, when you’re fearless and just create without worrying about mistakes. She believes it’s important to rediscover that playful feeling, because ultimately, most people sew simply for the enjoyment and passion it brings. She feels a deep love for the craft, calling it truly wonderful.

Grant explained that they chose her as the winner because of her bravery, style, and skillful performance, adding that she delivered a truly outstanding result.

Young also expressed her happiness for Caz, saying she particularly admired Caz’s final design.

Caz explained that the final challenge was deeply personal, inspired by the open-heart surgery she underwent four years prior. She described her dress as a way of expressing gratitude to the NHS and Stoke University Hospital.

I truly poured my heart into this project, but it was especially meaningful because my daughter, Florence, modeled for it and brought her own unique flair to the work. I was incredibly proud of her.

Caz won the ‘Garment of the Week’ challenge three times during the show – once each in the Design Icons, Korea, and Kids themed weeks. Surprisingly, she admitted it wasn’t until she watched the episodes back on television that she realized how well she had actually performed!

You know, being at the Final with Orla and Yasmin – my fellow contestants, ‘The Bees’ as we were called – it was such a great experience. Honestly, I really felt like any of us could have taken home the win. We were all incredibly supportive of each other, and I always had their backs just as they had mine. Looking back, we were all winners in my book.

I’ve been watching *The Great British Sewing Bee* since it first aired in 2013, and it’s consistently delivered! It follows a really familiar format – think *The Great British Bake Off*, but with sewing instead of baking. Each week, amateur sewers tackle a series of challenges, all hoping to be named the best in the country. It’s a reliably charming and engaging show.

Sophie Willan, known for her show Alma’s Not Normal, will be the new host of the Christmas Celebrity Special later this year, taking over from Sara Pascoe.

“We’re thrilled to have Sophie Willan join The Great British Sewing Bee,” said Cal Turner, a commissioning editor at the BBC. “Her energy and excitement will add a special touch to the show, alongside Patrick and Esme.”
