The Guest writer teases that Eve Myles’s character is “utterly terrifying”

In the upcoming cat-and-mouse thriller titled “The Guest,” actresses Gabrielle Creevy and Eve Myles will take center stage. This gripping series was penned by Matthew Barry and is set to premiere on BBC One.

In a new role, Creevy portrays Ria, a young cleaner who is employed by the assertive businesswoman Fran, brought to life by Myles. As Ria becomes captivated by Fran’s self-assuredness, she gradually modifies her personal lifestyle.

Yet, when Fran’s advice unexpectedly results in a startling incident, these two distinct individuals find themselves bound together by mutual secrets and perilous schemes. This situation leaves them both pondering about who might be manipulating whom.

Before the upcoming series goes on air, Barry had an exclusive chat with TopMob and shared some tantalizing insights about the two main characters’ performances.

When queried about if either Myles or Creevy added something unexpected to their roles, Barry responded by saying they each did so in unique manners.

He commented that Gabrielle has a knack for making things feel authentic, as she frequently brings situations down to earth in a manner that seems incredibly genuine.

Later, it seemed Eve added a lot of humor to her role. What truly impresses me is her versatility – she can switch from being hilarious and making us laugh one moment, to being genuinely terrifying the next. And she does this masterfully, able to shift gears instantly.

In addition to the four-part series, actors such as Sion Daniel Young, Emun Elliott, Bethan Mary-James, Julian Lewis Jones, Joseph Ollman, Clive Russell, and Catherine Ayers also make notable appearances.

Barry has penned episodes for shows such as EastEnders, Industry, and is credited for the 2023 television movie titled Men Up.
