After playing Nick Blaine on The Handmaid’s Tale for almost ten years, you might assume Max Minghella is comfortable with intense, dramatic roles. But it was a different experience joining a show he already loved as a fan, starting in its fourth season.
This is true for the show ‘Industry,’ as Minghella shared he was a strong advocate for the BBC/HBO collaboration from the start, and it’s since gained a dedicated following.
In an interview with the BBC to promote the new season, Minghella was asked if he had watched and enjoyed ‘Industry’ before accepting a role in the show.
He confirmed he felt a lot of pressure to perform well, especially because his close friends are deeply committed to the industry and he didn’t want to disappoint them or the dedicated fans this season.
“There are a lot of new characters,so we all felt that responsibility, I think.”

Actor Simone Ashley Minghella is joining the cast of season 4, playing Whitney Halberstram, the CEO of a financial technology company called Tender. Tender will be a central focus of the new season, and Minghella describes her character as highly ambitious, persuasive, and with a mysterious background.
He explains that the theme of ‘tenderness’ is key to the fourth season’s storyline. Whitney wants to transform the company from a simple payment app into a comprehensive ‘all-in-one banking solution’ accessible through your phone.
Minghella is just one of several new actors joining the show. Other fresh faces include Charlie Heaton, known for ‘Stranger Things,’ Claire Forlani from ‘Departure,’ and Kal Penn of ‘Designated Survivor.’ Kiernan Shipka (‘The Last Showgirl’), Jack Farthing (‘The Serial Killer’s Wife’), Toheeb Jimoh (‘Ted Lasso’), and Amy James-Kelly (‘Coronation Street’) are also joining the cast.
Now successful Pierpoint graduates, Harper and Yasmin find their carefully built lives disrupted when a new, exciting fintech company arrives in London, leading them into a thrilling and risky international chase.
Yasmin’s relationship with wealthy tech mogul Sir Henry Muck and Harper’s growing connection with the mysterious Whitney Halberstram are straining their friendship. The pressures of wealth, ambition, and the pursuit of success are causing tensions to rise and threatening to tear them apart.
