The Hunting Party Season 2 Premiere: First Killer Revealed & Star Teases New Twists

I’m so excited for season 2 of The Hunting Party! Melissa Roxburgh is back as Bex, and we’re getting a first look at the new case she’s tackling. The show is about this incredible team – government agents and soldiers – who are thrown together when a secret prison blows up. Turns out, that prison was holding a bunch of seriously twisted serial killers who were part of some messed-up experiments to try and fix them. Now they’re loose, and it’s up to Bex and her team to stop them!

Tonight marks the premiere of season 2 of The Hunting Party, almost a year after it began. ScreenRant has an exclusive first look at a clip from the new season. The scene takes place in Austin, Texas in 2005 and introduces Ron Simms – portrayed by Finnigan McCormack as a young man and his father, Eric McCormack, in the present day – who works at the DMV. We see him having an uncomfortable interaction with a woman, after which he writes down her name and address in a small notebook. The clip then shows Ron hiding under her bed and injecting her with a drug, resulting in paralysis. He then attempts to watch a movie with her. You can watch the clip below.

Screen Rant’s Grant Hermanns recently spoke with Melissa Roxburgh about the second season of The Hunting Party. Roxburgh hinted at some exciting guest stars and shared what fans can expect for her character, Bex, as she reunites her team to pursue new criminals and navigate a complex storyline.

The Hunting Party Season 2‘s Guest Cast Are The “Superpower” Of The Show

In the first season of The Hunting Party, Bex and her team faced a constant stream of unexpected twists while tracking down the escaped killers. The show revealed major secrets, like Colonel Lazarus (played by Kari Matchett) being Shane’s mother and a former student of the infamous ‘Pit.’ The season also ended with a shocking cliffhanger, leaving Nick Wechsler’s character, Odell, poisoned by the killer. These surprises kept the tension high for both the characters and the audience of the NBC thriller.

Roxburgh shared that season two is currently about halfway finished. While fans shouldn’t expect any huge surprises, she described the new storylines as fascinating and praised the show’s twists and turns, saying they’ve kept things interesting. She’s particularly enjoyed reading each script and seeing how the plot unfolds.

Season 2 of The Hunting Party will continue its tradition of featuring well-known guest stars in both killer and victim roles, starting with Eric McCormack from Will & Grace, and also including Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) and Emmy winner Niecy Nash-Betts. Show creator Roxburgh calls this casting strategy a “superpower” because many of these actors aren’t typically known for dramatic or villainous roles, making them surprisingly effective as the serial killers in their respective episodes.

She also highly complimented Nash-Betts, who plays a detective involved in catching a serial killer who encased victims in resin, describing them as “great” and “so easy to work with.” Roxburgh noted that Nash-Betts exemplifies the “high-caliber talent” the show, The Hunting Party, attracts. The main cast often wonders how each guest star will be, but they consistently find them to be “really awesome and sweet.”
