The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender Fans Rally to Have The Movie Hit The Screen

Many fans were disappointed earlier this month when Paramount announced a change of plans for the next Avatar movie. After some delays, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender will now be released exclusively on Paramount+, instead of in theaters. While the movie is still scheduled for release next October, many animation fans are protesting the decision. A petition on Change.org is asking Paramount to reconsider and give the adult animated film a theatrical release, and you can add your name to it.

A new campaign is underway to get “Avatar: The Last Airbender” released in theaters, titled “Release Legend of Aang Theatrically.” The campaign aims to give the beloved series the big-screen experience it deserves, as the creators originally envisioned. They believe a theatrical release will reach a wider audience, including those who don’t typically use streaming services. Historically, movies create a special excitement and allow fans to connect through events like cosplay and discussions, strengthening the community and keeping the franchise vibrant. Many fans, including those involved in the campaign, have long hoped for a chance to experience the series together in a cinema.

The campaign asks Paramount to rethink its release plan and listen to what fans want. The suggestion is to release the film in theaters first, then make it available for streaming. This would help Paramount make money while still honoring the original work and building excitement among fans. By signing the petition, you can help bring Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender to the big screen and show Paramount how much the creators’ vision means to the audience. Your signature can make a real difference!

What Will Adult Aang Do?

I’m so excited about the upcoming Avatar movie! It’s a bit disappointing it won’t be hitting theaters, but the cast additions totally make up for it! We’ve got Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Dee Bradley Baker, Peta Sergeant, Freida Pinto, and Ke Huy Quan joining the adventure! The movie is going to show us an adult Aang discovering a brand new power – something fans like me have been hoping for ever since his little cameos in The Legend of Korra. And the good news doesn’t stop there! Paramount is also planning a new TV series called Avatar: Seven Havens which will continue the story after Korra, so there’s a lot more Avatar to look forward to!
