Next month, Falcom will release the latest installment in The Legend of Heroes series, Trails beyond the Horizon. A demo is now available for PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, letting players experience the game’s prologue.
In the game, you’ll follow Van Arkride’s journey to Marduk, where he quickly becomes embroiled in a crisis that threatens the world. You’ll also control familiar faces like Rean Schwarzer and Kevin Graham, and any progress you make with them will be saved when the game officially releases.
The Battle demo is exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It lets you explore Grim Garten, a new side activity resembling a dungeon, and features three different party setups, each led by a main character. The game still uses a unique battle system that switches between turn-based and real-time combat. Now, you can slow down enemies using Z.O.C. and chain together more powerful attacks.
Get ready for The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon, which comes out on January 15, 2026. If you’re curious, you can read our review of the previous game, Trails through Daybreak 2, here.
