Marvel and Clover Press have been doing amazing work showcasing incredible artists with these beautiful art books, and he’s a fantastic addition to a list that already includes legends like Michael Turner, Tyler Kirkham, and Mike Allred. It’s great to see his talent celebrated this way!

Dan dos Santos is a highly respected commercial artist known for his detailed oil paintings. He’s created artwork for major companies like Marvel, Disney, and DC Comics, as well as game developers like Activision and Wizards of the Coast. His work has earned him numerous awards, and he’s been nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Artist five times.

The Marvel Art of Dan dos Santos Kickstarter Explained

Marvel and Clover Press often use Kickstarter to launch their special art books, and the release of ‘The Marvel Art of Dan dos Santos’ is following that pattern. This Kickstarter campaign lets fans pre-order the book and receive exclusive extras, such as prints of various sizes, a signed slipcase and dustjacket version, stickers, a puzzle, and original sketches.

This book is a large-format, hardcover collection – over 200 pages – showcasing all of Dan dos Santos’ paintings from the 2022 Marvel Masterpieces trading card set. It also includes artwork from other sets, plus never-before-published pieces and a look into dos Santos’ creative process.

Dan dos Santos shared his enthusiasm for his new Marvel artwork collection. He explained that discovering a similar book as a teenager inspired him to become a professional artist, making this release particularly meaningful. The book is the culmination of years of work, featuring hundreds of paintings that he considers his best yet. Dos Santos poured his energy into bringing these modern heroes to life with rich detail and compelling stories, hoping to inspire a new generation of artists and fans just as those early Marvel collections inspired him.
