The MCU Comeback Fans Have Been Waiting For Since 2018 Is Finally Happening

As a huge Marvel fan, I’m getting seriously excited about 2026! It’s going to be a big year for a project we’ve all been waiting for since 2018. Honestly, the Multiverse Saga hasn’t quite lived up to expectations so far, but things are definitely shifting. There have been some major changes at Marvel Studios, and it feels like they’re starting to recapture that original excitement we all felt for the MCU.

As a huge Marvel fan, I was really bummed when Daredevil got cancelled on Netflix, especially right before the big Infinity Saga ended. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio were amazing, and it was honestly one of the best shows they put out. Everyone was hoping those characters would eventually make their way into the main MCU, and we were all left wanting more when it ended.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Is A Fresh Start For The Show

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again, which premiered in 2025, faced a unique challenge: it had to integrate characters fans already knew into a completely new universe. It also needed to tie into previous appearances by those same actors in shows and movies like Hawkeye, Echo, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and She-Hulk.

Matt Corman and Chris Ord created and wrote the series, but Dario Scardapane significantly revised the storyline. Because of these changes, the first season had a lot of plot points to set up and explain. However, season two takes a different approach.

Why Born Again Season 2 Will Feel More Like The Original Daredevil

Drew Goddard wasn’t brought back to recapture the feel of the original series. However, Dario demonstrated with his revisions that he understood the characters and successfully blended his own style with the existing version fans already enjoyed.

Dario’s extensive background in crime and thriller shows makes him ideally suited to direct this series and ensure it stays true to what fans love. He’ll bring the intense drama, exciting action, and impactful moments, all woven together with political intrigue – a perfect combination for this character and the team creating the show.

Rebooting Charlie Cox’s Daredevil Would’ve Been Disastrous

Charlie Cox has become a fan-favorite as Matt Murdock, and Vincent D’Onofrio has also received a lot of praise for his portrayal of Wilson Fisk. When the show ended, fans were upset and strongly campaigned to keep Charlie Cox in the role of Daredevil.

Trying to ignore the popularity of the original Daredevil series and starting over, especially with new actors, would have been a major misstep for the MCU. Currently, Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most exciting upcoming projects, alongside other big MCU releases planned for 2026.
