Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, doesn’t have typical superpowers like flight or super strength, but his abilities are becoming increasingly remarkable, as shown in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. While a skilled fighter, Daredevil is more than just a vigilante – he’s a true superhero with impressive powers. His “radar sense” works similarly to echolocation, giving him complete awareness of his surroundings. Combined with his other heightened senses, it’s incredibly difficult to deceive him, something villains who rely on illusions – like Mysterio – have discovered firsthand.
Daredevil’s heightened senses, while usually an advantage, can sometimes be a disadvantage. Loud noises and busy environments can overwhelm him, as seen in the first episode of Born Again when boat alarms briefly threw off his coordination. However, that same scene also showed a new and unexpected way Matt uses his radar sense – a technique that feels more inspired by Star Wars than the comics themselves.
Daredevil Has a “Shatterpoint” Power

Mace Windu, a Jedi in Star Wars, possesses a unique Force ability called “shatterpoint.” This rare power lets him instinctively identify vulnerabilities – not just in people, but in anything around him. He can see the crucial moments that could change events and ruin an enemy’s plans. While it’s a mystical skill, it’s also incredibly useful in combat. He can sense weaknesses in objects, allowing him to break through strong defenses with his hands alone. Essentially, Mace Windu is a formidable warrior who doesn’t even need a lightsaber to be dangerous.
The first episode of Daredevil: Born Again shows Matt Murdock using his radar sense much like he did before. This ability works like echolocation, letting him detect even small differences in materials and find weak points in objects. In the episode, he quickly identifies a weak spot in a door and breaks through it with little effort – it’s essentially the same skill as ‘shatterpoint,’ and it’s something Mace Windu would recognize.
Shatterpoint is more than just a physical ability, and Daredevil’s use of radar sense, while impressive, isn’t quite as powerful as the Force. However, it highlights how much Daredevil has grown, as he’s never shown this level of skill before. Interestingly, he could potentially use this radar sense in combat to identify openings in an opponent’s defenses or exploit previous injuries. His enemies, both old and new, will undoubtedly use every strategy they can to win.
