Wonder Man appears to be a bigger threat than initially suggested by the show’s early previews. All eight episodes of the new Marvel series, Wonder Man, will be available on January 27th, and Marvel Studios recently released another teaser. While the first trailers focused on Simon Williams simply auditioning for a superhero role with a unique director, the latest preview reveals he has powers and is being pursued by Damage Control, giving us a better understanding of his character and the potential danger he poses within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A new trailer released on X shows P. Cleary (Arian Moayed) from the Department of Damage Control returning to warn Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery that Simon Williams is a major threat due to his powerful abilities. It appears the DODC wants to detain Simon simply because he has superhuman powers.
It’s not just about superpowers – there’s a deeper story to tell. The new 8-episode Marvel series, #WonderMan, starts streaming January 27th at 6 PM Pacific Time, exclusively on Disney+.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe moves toward its next big challenge – the arrival of Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday – many questions and worries are arising. While the Sokovia Accords may be ending, public distrust of superheroes still seems to be a major issue.
Simon Williams’ Wonder Man Has Immense Powers

Peter Cleary has been seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before. He first appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming as part of the Damage Control team, which handled the cleanup after the Avengers’ battle in New York – an event that ultimately contributed to the rise of the Vulture. He later returned in Ms. Marvel, trying to capture Kamala Khan because of her superpowers, but faced public backlash against his actions.
He’s currently in California, attempting to recruit actor Simon Williams for a superhero part. But in a recent preview, Simon reveals he’s worried about being overlooked for roles if people discover he has superpowers. This highlights a clear prejudice against those with abilities, creating difficulties and widespread discrimination within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
P. Cleary is correct – Wonder Man is incredibly powerful. In Marvel Comics, his abilities stem from a unique ionic energy form, further enhanced by Pym Particles. He possesses immense strength, capable of lifting over 100 tons – a level comparable to the Sentry. He’s even defeated powerful foes like the Abomination and Red Hulk, both of whom have challenged the Hulk himself. Plus, he’s virtually invulnerable and doesn’t get tired. However, the comic book version of Simon Williams, the man behind Wonder Man, is a pacifist, so it will be fascinating to see how he approaches conflicts with DODD.
