The MCU’s Newest Big Bad Just Called For Help Using a Familiar Source

Okay, so get this – Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four’s arch-enemy, actually asked for their help! And it wasn’t through some weird portal or anything, it was through a source I totally recognized. It was seriously unexpected, but I knew exactly where that signal was coming from.

Following several dangerous battles with villains like the Wizard, the Fantastic Four finally have a moment to relax in issue #6 (written by Ryan North, with art by Humberto Ramos, Victor Olazaba, Edgar Delgado, and lettering by Joe Caramagna). Reed Richards uses this time to explain the concept of true randomness to his children, Franklin and Valeria. But while demonstrating one of his inventions, he discovers something alarming: a distress signal embedded within the cosmic microwave background radiation – a plea for help from Galactus himself.

In Marvel’s Fantastic Four #6, Earth is under attack by aliens who thrive in extreme environments! These aliens are trying to halt the planet’s rotation, intending to make one side permanently face the sun and then claim that scorching, uninhabitable side as their own. It’s up to the Fantastic Four to save the world, but altering Earth’s rotation is beyond their usual powers… or is it?

Okay, so things are totally crazy right now! The Wizard is using all the confusion to attack the Baxter Building, and honestly, I think there’s a bigger plot going on than we realize. We’re talking something that could completely change everything for the Fantastic Four! This issue is packed with science stuff, family drama, and, of course, a ton of fighting. Oh, and get this – it looks like the Future Foundation is starting to rebuild, which is awesome!

Galactus, also known as the Devourer of Worlds, first appeared in Marvel Comics back in 1965 with Fantastic Four #48, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. He quickly became one of Marvel’s most recognizable characters. Originally, Galactus was the greatest danger the Marvel Universe had ever faced, but over time, his story became even more complex, revealing a past that predates the current Marvel Universe as fans know it.

After a disappointing first appearance in the 2007 film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Galactus received a significant update. The movie was Galactus’s official introduction to the big screen, brought to life by the talented Ralph Ineson, and also marked his entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

To prepare for the role, Ineson immersed himself in the character by visiting numerous tall buildings. He even attended a wedding at the top of London’s Gherkin building, where he spent the afternoon lost in thought. He admitted his wife playfully scolded him for neglecting the bride and groom while he was deep in contemplation.

Fantastic Four #6 is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
